Initial Consultation and Assessment
On your initial visit, you will be given a personalized movement assessment and joint function analysis in order to find imbalance, range of motion limitations, and other factors that contribute to your condition. By understanding your previous injuries or conditions as part of the consultation, we can determine what may be contributing to your pain or circumstances with greater successes. Assessment of the body as a whole is important to fully understand which abnormal movement patterns are responsible for your symptoms.

Developing a plan just for you
Following your 1-on-1 movement assessment and consultation, we will create a specific treatment plan that restores wellness and achieves your health goals, which will vary for each individual. By understanding your specific biomechanics and ailments, we will establish realistic goals and give you guidance to improve your movement and health naturally. Our aim is for you to feel your best while providing education and simple self-help tools to help you maintain optimum movement performance.
We explain complex conditions in very simple terms so that you can fully understand what is going on with your body. You can take control of your health starting today, which will lead to improved physical activities and a much healthier and more functional life. We want to help you feel better quickly so you can get back out there!
Chiropractic treatment is designed to help you feel better. It is a non-invasive and safe therapy that is performed to the spine and extremities. Chiropractic adjustments are designed to provide gentle joint mobilizations that improve biomechanics and the structural integrity surrounding the joint. Millions of people around the world have benefited from this type of holistic treatment.
Why is chiropractic treatment needed?
The rationale for this type of treatment is centered on creating a greater range of motion to the joints, therefore improving the biomechanics of the body, which may be restricted by tense and inflamed areas caused by injury and imbalance. Aligning joints of the spine and extremities promotes increased mobility and proper movement, which takes the pressure off of nervous system structures that typically cause pinched-nerve type pain. We are all designed to move regularly. When movement is limited, problems exist and physical pain can result.
How is it performed?
Adjustments are performed physically by hand, delivering highly-accurate pressure to the correct joints. This releases the misaligned joints and sometimes causes a popping sound. Most patients report a sense of relief or release of tension after adjustments because the joints have been returned to their proper position. Infants, children, seniors, and even patients that have undergone surgery can all benefit from chiropractic adjustments, which are tailored to your size, weight, age, and any other physical conditions.
Myofascial Release Therapy/Active Release Techniques (ART)
Myofascial Release Therapy is extremely effective in treating overworked muscles that often cause discomfort and pain. This method of treatment involves manual therapy that focuses on the tissues that connect and support your muscles. Myofascial pain is a chronic, painful condition that originates in the fascia or the connective tissue that covers muscles.
Relaxing hyperactive muscles and releasing taught connective tissue helps restore blood flow to the muscle and aids in reducing inflammation and pain while increasing range of motion. Dr. DeVille utilizes a state-of-the-art soft tissue treatment system called Active Release Techniques (ART), which is a massage technique that actively stretches muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves in order to restore function.
The build-up of scar tissue in the body can be caused by trauma, muscle strains, repetitive-use injuries, and a lack of oxygen to the tissues. Once scar tissue is present, it can bind tissues together causing tight muscles, overall weakness, tendon issues, and nerve entrapment. As we evaluate your condition and identify the source of the problem, we provide direct tension using specific movements to release tissue adhesions. Dr. DeVille is Active Release Technique Certified for the spine.
In order to truly overcome your pain and condition, it is essential to not only identify imbalances that are causing the pain but apply strategies to correct dysfunction. Corrective exercises are specific movements strategies used to reduce imbalance and compensatory movement patterns. While also focusing on postural techniques, corrective exercises cue the body’s motor system to improve biomechanics constraints on its own.
Once corrective exercises are able to restore proper biomechanics, we will transition into an integrated exercise program based on your goals. The goal of corrective exercise is to make movement more efficient. By also learning how to move better, it benefits everyone in all walks of life, leading to better mobility and a longer, more gratifying life.
Functional Movement Assessments
Dr. DeVille is certified in Selective Functional Movements Assessments (SFMA), a clinical assessment process for those who are experiencing pain. It is a movement-based diagnostic system that systematically finds the cause of pain (not just the location of the pain) by logically breaking down dysfunctional movement patterns in a structured, repeatable program. Once we have assessed your movement, we can accurately target the true reason for your pain and take the necessary steps to address the problem.
Shoulder pain is a good example of the importance of effective diagnosis. Often times when we experience pain in the shoulder, it may not stem from the shoulder itself but rather a point within the neck, upper/mid-back, hip, or nervous structures. If we simply treat the shoulder, conditions may not improve and pain will continue. However, if we assess the entire body as a system and identify dysfunctional movement patterns through a repeatable screening process, we can reach a much higher rate of success and ultimately help you feel better faster.
We are certified providers of Rocktape™ (Functional Movement Techniques – FMT), an evidence-based approach that involves placing specialized strips of tape in specific directions on parts of the body. Taping can reduce pain, enhancing fluid dynamics of tissue, improving posture, and reducing nerve entrapment and scars. By utilizing taping methods such as FMT, it can facilitate the body’s natural healing process, while providing stability and support to the joints and muscles without restricting the body’s natural range of motion.
RockTape™ differs from typical athletic tape in that it has unique elastic properties that allow dynamic support. The material has a lifting action on the skin which relieves pressure on pain receptors, which allows for immediate and lasting relief. Taping also helps reduce swelling and lymphedema (swelling in the arms or legs) by allowing drainage channels to form more effectively, decreasing fluid retention. The unique properties of the taping procedure provide passive support to weak or injured muscles, assisting in faster recovery and rapid return to sport and other activities.
